Cultural reaction to Apple products

The aesthetic appeal of Apple products to consumers today is overwhelmingly apparent. Products are seeming to be bought based upon appearance rather than performance. I believe that this shift in buying habits can be attributed to the increasingly sleek design and look of their products. I personally know many people who, when asked why they had bought an Apple product, have answered "Because they're pretty," or "Because they look cool!" One of Apples main marketing goals is to emphasize its beauty to its potential market.

Based upon this observation, I find myself arriving at the conclusion that as science or technology continues to advance, even in such areas as appearance, society reacts in a generally positive way.
Therefore, science is influencing the buying habits of our society.
